  • Jonathan and Jennifer Harris
    Pillar of Courage Award
    Alternative Investment Management

    Jon is the Chairman of Alternative Investment Management, LLC’s Investment Committee and Board of Managers.  Jon leads the firm’s investment management activities and the overall strategic direction of the firm.  Prior to joining the firm, Jon managed private investments for J.I. Harris & Associates. Previously, he worked for Goldman Sachs in the firm’s Investment Management Services Group and spent time in its Investment Banking Division in London.  Earlier in his financial services career, Jon served as a principal investment analyst for Madison Dearborn Partners, the private equity firm based in Chicago.  Jon also served as Deputy to the Vice Presidential Campaign Manager for the Dole-Kemp Presidential Campaign in 1996. Prior to that role, he was responsible for the majority party’s issues on the International Finance Subcommittee of the U.S. Senate’s Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.  Jon’s involvement with the UJA Federation of New York has included roles as Co-Chair of the Annual Campaign, member of the Board, member of the Strategic Council of the Wall Street Division, and Co-Chair of the Investment Management Division.  Jon has also served on the board for the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, as a trustee of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and on the Leadership Council for the Robin Hood Foundation.  Jon is a member of the New York Economic Club and the Chicago Economic Club. He is also an associate member of Partnership for New York City and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.  In addition, he serves on the board of the Child Mind Institute and is an advisor to the University of Michigan Investment Office on Alternative Investments.  Jon earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

    In her professional career, Jennifer worked in the advertising industry as an Account Manager at global agencies including D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and DDB/NY. Jennifer has also been in involved in numerous not-for- profit groups.  These have included UJA Federation of New York as a member of the Children Youth and Family Task Force, Caring Commission Cabinet, Families Division, Past Co-Chair for the Young Lions and as a member of the Board of Directors. Additionally, Jennifer has served as a member of the Board of Advisors for the Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and on the Executive Committee for the Lying-In Group and New Leaders at New York-Presbyterian Cornell Hospital. In addition, Jennifer is active at her children’s school as a committed member of the Parent’s Association, co-chairing several committees over the years. She is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, NY. Jen and Jon live in New York City with their two children, Tucker and Charlotte.


  • Eli and Yael Weiss
    Young Leadership Award
    Joy Construction

    Eli and Yael live in Lower Manhattan and have a son and a daughter who both attend the Abraham Joshua Heschel School. Eli is the Director of Development and Principal at Joy Construction Corp. where he manages commercial real estate and affordable housing developments in New York City. Eli holds a BS in Finance from Yeshiva University, Masters in Real Estate Development from New York University and a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall School of Law. Eli serves on the board of trustees of the New York State Housing Conference and the Tribeca Synagogue and served as an adjunct instructor at NYU's Schack Institute of Real Estate.

    Yael is the Principal of Yael Weiss Interiors, LLC. She received her BS in Business Management from Yeshiva University, a Masters in Childhood Education from Hunter College and a Certificate in Interior Design and Architecture Studies from the Parsons School of Design. Yael oversees the interior design of both residential and commercial projects. Yael is a volunteer for terminally ill patients through the Doula Program. But her most cherished role is raising their children, Nathaniel and Lily, and hosting family and friends, new and old, for Shabbat meals on Friday night.
