Let's Unite for Ukraine Jewry

  • Dear Friends

Our brothers and sisters in Ukraine are desperate for our help.

My cousin Rabbi Shneur Vigler is part of a team of Rabbis that are/were stationed in Odessa. They have an orphanage of 120 children, an old age home, a student dormitory and 35000 Jews under their care.

    1. Since the beginning of the war, they have been continuing with the massive evacuation of Jews from the city, in an operation that already includes close to 200 buses, with each bus costing us an average of $10,000. Every day they take out around 3 buses.

    2. Chabad of Odessa also runs an orphanage and at the beginning of the war, 120 orphans were evacuated to Berlin. These orphans are being put up in a hotel. The cost to feed them and take care of their basic needs as well as all their staff is staggering!

    3. There are around 8000 elderly people in Odessa that are afraid to leave their homes. They are being provided with food and life saving medicines that they need.

    4. There is also an old age home that Chabad of Odessa continues to run even during this time.

In addition to all these expenses private security guards have had to be hired to ensure the safety and well being of everyone who has stayed

It's costing tens of thousands of dollars a day - they are in a time of absolute crisis.

    Please give whatever you can.

    Rabbi Uriel Vigler
