It is a Jewish tradition to pray to the Almighty at the resting place of a Tzaddik, a saintly person, with the heartfelt wish that he join our prayers from on high, for blessings for ourselves and our loved ones.
This is an especially auspicious time to visit the Ohel being that Sunday, May 22/Iyar 18 is the Yartzeit of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai known as Lag Ba'omer. Thousands of people worldwide travel to New York to have the opportunity to pray during this special time period.
