Alef Bet Preschool’s Education Program is intended: to highlight each child’s individual strengths, to foster their sense of independence and to nurture their: cognitive, social, physical & moral development.
It is now commonly accepted that not all children of the same age learn at the same pace or in the same way. In response to all of our student’s learning needs, the educators at Alef Bet Preschool consider the varying levels of intelligences and cognitive profiles outlined in Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences theory.
Our Preschool Program also includes a rich variety of experiences developed around our students growing interests by observing the innovative and inspiring Reggio Emilia approach to learning. Our Preschool Program provides our students with countless opportunities, each day, to discover their interests through first hand experiences. Likewise, both the classroom schedule and classroom environment have been deliberated to include a wide variety of open ended activities and materials so that children can make discoveries independently and at their own pace.
Throughout the school day, students will be able: to manipulate materials, to use their senses, to investigate, to explore their surroundings, to search for answers and to satisfy their natural curiosity. By offering choices and allowing the child to take initiative, our students will ultimately become increasingly confident and self-sufficient.
Our Judaic curriculum is similarly, holistically woven into our curriculum and is meant to emphasize the importance of family, community and lastly, to nurture our students sense of culture.
