Dear Parent,

Thank you for your interest in our Preschool! Our school is entering its Eighth year, with classes for ages 18 months - 5 years. We offer a full Jewish and academic curriculum in a warm, gentle and nurturing setting.

Our beautiful facilities, complete with an outdoor playground, are bright, modern and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment carefully chosen to inspire your child’s imagination and encourage their budding independence.

At The Chabad Israel Alef Bet Preschool, we strive to nurture each child’s innate sense of wonder and curiosity. We firmly believe that the cornerstone for all cognitive learning is a nurtured sense of self worth, achieved by celebrating each child’s individual creative expressions and their unique strengths. All of our teachers are certified educators who are either mothers, or come from a large and loving family (or both). As a result, they bring to their jobs a unique blend of personal and professional warmth that have become the trademarks of a Chabad Preschool, in New York City and beyond.

Our preschool classrooms are full of opportunities for learning, socialization and growth. Judaic and academic themes are mutually-reinforcing, and cover all the various domains that complete an early childhood education: Literacy, pre-Math, Social Sciences, Sciences and Art. At our Preschool, Jewish learning is not simply a subject. The warmth, meanings and practices of Judaism are an integral part of each day. Jewish songs, holidays and traditions are taught in meaningful and joyous ways, inspiring a deep-rooted Jewish connection in each of our students. We put a strong emphasis on the Hebrew spoken Language as well as Songs and words.

Our approach to integrated education is informed by both Jewish wisdom and the best of progressive educational practice, primarily Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence approach. These methods guide and inspire us to maintain a high level of respect for each individual child, for the pursuit of knowledge and for the world around us. Guided by Jewish teachings, we view each child as a precious gift entrusted into our care. This belief translates into every day and each encounter at our Preschool.

The process is divided into three phases.

The first phase involves a tour of the preschool with the director. Your child does not accompany you at this time. We will discuss our school and address any concerns you have relative to your child's future education. To attend a small group or a private tour, we first require you fill out an application form. Please find an application form Here

The second phase of our admission process requires setting up an appointment for your child to visit and participate in a mini-class to interact with a few other children. The director and/or school psychologist will also do an evaluation of your child to determine their acceptance. All children are met before being accepted to Chabad Alef Bet Preschool.

The third phase is when families are notified of admission status and enrollment forms are sent out.

Each step of the process is designed to help your family become better acquainted with our program. Additionally, this process allows ample opportunities for the Chabad Alef Bet team to get to know you and your child

To provide the individualized attention we excel at, our openings are limited; we suggest you arrange for a visit soon so your application can be considered at the earliest date.

We look forward to meeting you and your child.

With best wishes to you and your family,
