Preschool Program : The Explorers
Our Pre K program encourages children to think critically, to ask meaningful questions and to learn from their peers Students learn through direct instruction, through exploration and through discovery.
Each year, The Explorers in our Pre-K class take an imaginative trip around the globe as part of our integrated curriculum. Throughout the school year, the children will have an opportunity to explore different countries and cultures through art and author studies, baking, science experiments, reflective shares, journal entries and sensory explorations.
Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to meet New York State Preschool Standards to ensure that our preschoolers leave Kindergarten ready.
Here's what our Explorers look forward to this year!:
Reading skills: Read alouds, shared reading, language experience charts are all strategies to enforce reading readiness!
Writing readiness:Children will use the Handwriting Without Tears Program and learn to use a variety of writing mediums.
Maths skills: Sorting, patterning, classifying, graphing, estimating, adding, subtracting, calendar skills and place value
Field trips are an exciting and educational part of your child’s school experience. Children in our Pre-K program will be able to travel to museums and to other educational locations throughout the year. We will provide transportation for these trips.
